Key Account Manager

Employment Duration:  Full-time
Location:  Based in Womelsdorf, PA
Reports to:  Vice President Sales and Marketing
Compensation:  Salary dependent on experience + bonus potential
General Job description: 
The Key Account Manager is responsible for developing and managing long-term relationships with DSD and assigned private label customers and connecting with key business executives and stakeholders to achieve set sales goals and objectives.  This position will liaise between customers and the internal DSD team to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our products according to the customer needs.
Principle functions of the job:
  • Adhere to all current GMP’s, food safety requirements and company policies
  • Operate as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to select customers
  • Develop and maintain strategic long-term trusting relationships with clients to accomplish organic growth and long-term company objectives
  • Resolve customer complaints in a timely, effective and respectful way
  • Develop and gain approval for local and regional promotions
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal teams including but not limited to sales, marketing and logistics
  • Communicate with DSD team to ensure flawless execution of promotions and store deals
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate company-wide and DSD goals
  • Review market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules and discount rates
  • Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with Route Sales Representatives
  • Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives with all team members to ensure growth attainment
  • Provide promotional forecast to all members of the team including but not limited to sales, production and distribution departments
  • Professionally implement all price adjustments and marketing programs into designated market area in a timely fashion as needed
  • Schedule, develop and present business reviews to customers on a regular schedule based on scope and size of customer
  • Meet sales goals and promote overall company growth to enhance profitability by developing leads/prospects and calling on prospective customers to solicit business
  • Attend industry trade shows and events to support lead generation for sales to potential new customers
  • Conceptual thinking: recognize patterns, trends, themes and connections in information to develop innovative ideas and solutions
  • Constructive engagement: express ideas and disagreements, constructively resolve conflict and encourages others to do the same
  • Strategic thinking: understand the current state and be able to visualize the ideas state and how to achieve it
  • Complete required paperwork in timely fashion, ensuring accuracy and legibility
  • Other duties as assigned by Vice President Sales and Marketing or upper management
Additional job skills/requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or related field
  • 3+ years account management experience
  • DSD and route management experience preferred including established relationships with key decision makers at regional grocery chains
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, listening, presentation, negotiation and decision making skills
  • High energy and enthusiasm level, dependable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at one time while paying strict attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Ideal candidate is extremely organized, adaptable and detail oriented with a high level of ownership, accountability and initiative
