Route Sales

Employment duration:  full-time
Reports to:  District Manager
Compensation:  Base + bonus / commission

 
General Job description: 
Operates a vehicle over established route to sell and deliver products. May be expected to render services and collect money from customers. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Must be licensed to operate a vehicle. Licensing requirements depend on the state. Must have a "satisfactory" driving record

Principle functions of the job:
  • RSR’s are required to be on their route by 6:00am
  • RSR must load their trucks either the night before, or in the morning before the route start time.
  • RSR’s must manage their route schedule to ensure efficient use of time (Example:  Performing scheduled stops according to store receiving windows)
  • RSR are responsible for the neatness and proper rotation of product (Includes rotating from end caps or displays to inline space).
  • At times, RSR’s are required to rotate product from slower moving accounts to faster moving outlets.
  • RSR’s are expected to develop relationships with the store managers they serve, which may require them to adjust their schedules to make sure they are there from time to time when the managers are also there.
  • It’s the RSR’s responsibility to properly maintain their vehicle in a safe manner (scheduling oil changes, and service when needed)
  • RSR’s should do a vehicle inspection on a daily basis, and report any issues to their DM
  • RSR’s are required during promotions (Ads, TPRs) to promote the product by engaging in conversation with the manager or store director (Informing managers and store directors of upcoming sales or details of the promotion).
  • RSR’s are expected to continue to grow their route by:
    • Adding locations (new stores – pizza shops, restaurants etc.)
    • Gaining display locations in existing accounts
    • Getting approval for special buys (BOGO etc)
    • Working with the store sign makers to make sure our prices are clearly marked
    • Gaining additional footage in the snack aisle
    • Selling additional products (1P2P) in locations that do not have our full line
  • RSR’s are required to manage the invoicing and collections for cash accounts
  • RSR’s must complete required paperwork on time and  in ensure it is accurate and legible
  • RSR’s are to place their next day order to the warehouse by noon each day to ensure the product can be staged for them

  • A flexible work schedule is required, including availability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to perform physical activities (frequent lifting, bending, and carrying up to 25 lbs., occasionally over 50 lbs., pushing, pulling, etc.)  while adhering to safety expectations and processes in a fast-paced work environment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Internet and Cellular/Wireless devices).
  • Successful completion of a drug test, MVR check, and general background check.
